Submit a Design!

Original art is part of what makes Local Universe so crazy special. It would mean the world to us if you submitted yours!

We offer a new theme every quarter. Then we ooh and aah over all the submissions and select three for members of the Local Universe to choose from in our newsletter and on Facebook and Instagram. 

The winning design is printed on our organic/recycled/sustainable goods, and the creator is compensated: $150 right off the bat, plus 50 cents per item sold for the first 150 items. After the 150 mark, the artist receives $1 per item, up to $500. 

The winning artist also has the opportunity to purchase items with his or her design at wholesale prices. So you can sell our organic/recycled/sustainable goods at your booth or gallery or in your shop. 

And as always, Local Universe makes a donation from every sale to a Denver nonprofit that gets disadvantaged kids into the mountains. So your artwork could be doing good in the universe! 

Of course, all this requires a bit of legal "stuff." Before we can consider your submission, we need you to read it and make sure you're cool with it. Grab a beverage and check it out

Then make sure you design according to these specs, helpfully provided by our green screen printer here in Denver: 

Spot color screen (solid color printing and most common process) requires vector artwork. Vector files can be .ai, .eps, or .pdf. If artwork has gradients, photos or color blends, the artwork needs to be saved as a raster or photoshop file. Minimum size requirement is 300dpi or higher.

OK. On to the good stuff, right? Here's our current theme. You can interpret it however you like, but you need to use the phrase in the design. Your working area is roughly 11x14. Please submit your design for consideration by September 1, 2018.
