[NASHVILLE] We rented a condo in Nashville from VRBO.com. Such a great move. We had looked at hotel rooms downtown, but they were more expensive. And they had nothing on this place. For one, hotel rooms don’t come with a nice living room where you can put your feet up and chill. For another, hotel rooms aren’t in the beyond charming Belmont Hillsboro neighborhood, a community of mature trees and well-kept Craftsman, four-square homes and bungalows. They also aren’t owned by Brett Jones, an award-winning songwriter, nor are they build for Ben Folds of Bed Folds Five.
Our condo has interesting antique pieces mixed with eclectic art, guitars on the walls, gorgeous wooden French doors separating the living space from the bedroom, and a spa-like bath. It’s on a shady street just on the other side of bustling Belmont Avenue, about 12 minutes from everywhere, according to Mary, the navigation system on my phone. (So named because she’s often a Hail Mary, full of grace for our travel mistakes.) Even better, it’s situated under Brett Jones’s songwriting studio. But more on that later.
